Question: We’re getting married next spring and, like all
engaged couples, we’d like our wedding day to be spectacular. Alas,
our budget isn’t quite as spectacular as our dreams. What do you
suggest?
Answer: You’re certainly not alone, but I have
some ideas.
So many young couples start to plan their ideal wedding, only to be brought
rather abruptly back to earth when they start to add up the expenses.
But never fear – I suggest when meeting with hotels that you ask
about items that can be available to you at no extra charge. For instance,
sometimes you can find luxurious extras in wedding-reception packages,
like ivory-hued, floor-length table linen, and matching napkins; votive
candles on each table; elegant china and silverware; and the pièce
de resistance, a candelabrum for each table (including, of course, the
candles). The candelabras, which add an inexpressibly graceful air to
the tables, could be as expensive as $300 apiece, if you were to rent
them yourselves. Wise shopping will reap great benefits!
